
John O. Mancini
John joined the Law Offices of Michael A. Kelly at its inception to focus on real estate, business, and corporate law in an environment that prioritized the service of its clients and their needs.
John has more than 13 years of experience representing major real estate developers, construction companies and financial institutions in Massachusetts and Rhode Island on such matters as commercial office projects, shopping centers, planned unit and condominium developments (residential and commercial), financing, general and limited partnerships, and joint ventures.
In addition to his real estate, business, and corporate law focus, John assists in the firm’s civil litigation practice as it addresses land use and environmental issues, construction litigation, and shareholder disputes. John also concentrates in the areas of creditor rights and receiverships.
John has worked with Michael Kelly on several reported cases involving real estate, construction and environmental matters. John also has significant experience in land use litigation, appearing before numerous administrative agencies throughout the state, as well as in federal and state courts.
Additionally, John has a leadership role in the firm’s management, responsible for day-to-day operations, and the firm’s growth plans for the future. He also is heavily involved in the hiring and mentoring of MAK’s associates and staff.

John has been involved in Rhode Island politics since 1996. Originally elected to the Cranston City Council in 1996, John served as a city-wide councilman representing 80,000 residents until 2002. As a city-wide councilman, John was the chairman of the finance committee, vice chair of the ordinance committee, and member of the public works and claims committee. John’s municipal legislative experience is of unique and invaluable benefit to clients as he assists and counsels them through the process of real estate development and agency approval. Because of his first-hand knowledge, John has ushered numerous residential and commercial client projects through the maze of Rhode Island’s regulatory approval processes.
In 2004, John was the Democratic contender for mayor of the city of Cranston, RI.
